Leonardo scored his first goal for Chinese Super League (CSL) side Guangzhou Evergrande on Saturday, ending a three-match goal drought that had seen him struggle to find the net.

The Brazilian striker was named as the starting forward for the game against Jiangsu Suning and he made no mistake when given the opportunity to score.

His strike gave Guangzhou a 1-0 lead at half-time and they held onto it until the final whistle, winning 2-1.

It was a welcome return to form for Leonardo, who has struggled with injuries this season and only managed one appearance before being dropped from the team.

Despite his struggles, he remains a key player for Guangzhou and is expected to continue playing a prominent role in their bid for success in the CSL.

With the league now into its second month, there have been several other standout performances across the board, with several players making significant contributions to their teams' successes.

However, it's clear that Leonardo's goal against Jiangsu will be remembered as a turning point in his season, and could well be a springboard for further success in the future.
